Are builders actually offering buyout as an option?

Wouldn't this solve the underlying issue that seems to have everyone in an uproar? Pay the buyout add it to your mortgage. Then is the same as the furnace no one gets to choose what brand furnace u get.. Builder usually has two brands that's it.. And I'm not sure the buyers get a choice.

Builder isn't going to offer a buyout as they get a kickback because of the rental

It's a buy out with the company not the builder. And the buy out is $4500 (ish) which is not even remotely reasonable.
