Smile National Homes-Gates Of CountrySide

Hey all!
I purchased my first home from National Homes in Brampton (Bramalea and Father Tobin area). I'm very excited and noticed that there's no real thread for this. As this is my first ever house, I'm very excited and looking forward.

I hope to meet my fellow neighbours here!!

Also, our structural appointment is just 2 weeks away. Any thoughts and suggestions in what we should look to upgrade?
I'm not too sure how pricing is with National Homes...anybody have an idea?

From what I've read, it's come to my understanding that there are certain things to upgrade with the builder, while the rest can be done after closing. Any suggestions?

Any advice and recommendations are much appreciated, and I'm very excited!

Cheers!

Anybody have had previous experience with National Homes in the past?
What are your thoughts? (build quality, upgrade pricing, after sales service)

Please share your experiences

We got our structural appointment on the 5th of March. Anything I should look out for?

My main concern is what I should be looking to upgrade with the builders that cannot be done after closing. This way, I would be saving some money as opposed to paying the builders with their marked up prices.

In my offer, I was able to get:
Both Bonus Packages, the upgraded stainless steel appliance package and the hardwood package for the main and second floor.
I was also able to get upgraded granite counter tops in every wash room (4 wash rooms upstairs) as well as the kitchen.

I also got away with paying the price of Elevation A instead of Elevation B (more expensive one)

Here is a list of some of the standards we get from National:
-9 ft ceilings on first and second floor
-granite countertop in kitchen
-colonial trim with 3inch step casing with moulded backbend and 5 1/4inch baseboards throughout
-8 ft heightened interior doors including archways
-3 1/4inch x 3/4inch natural hardwood flooring throughout first and second floor
-solid oak staircase
-solid plywood sub-floors (vs Aspenite)

Above are some of the main standards I put down, that I can remember.

What are your thoughts?
