Renegotiate deal with builder prior to closing

Hi there,

Our house is still under construction, closing end of November. We counter-offered 3 times until we firmed up the offer, which was accepted by the Builder. This happened 6-7 months ago.

At the time we signed the offer, they were advertising 20k in upgrades and we were able to get 32k in upgrades after all the counter-offers.

Now, as of September, on their website they are offering 35K in upgrades.

Any thoughts on whether or not we can renegotiate at this point (or how to?) and get them to honour their new promotion?

We are not closing for another month.

Why would they do this exactly?

You already came to an agreement on the home 7 months ago. Home will be ready in a month.

Those who may get the new deal will have to wait another 8 months to get their new home. So do you want to wait another 8 months again for $3000? You'd probably spend at least that on rent over that period of time.
