Default How many pot lights to put in basement

I would like to ask my builder to finish the basement which is around 12' 7" by 31' 7". I just want to make it a big rec room. How many pot lights should I put there to have sufficient light? There will be 2 basement windows, the basic ones, not oversized.

Thanks

I think I would install two groups of 4 pots or a 4 and 6.

It also helps to know how furniture will be arranged. You may want them over an area you think you'll have a table and chairs or to have a few separate that you can keep on if you're watching a movie, etc.

Thanks for the advices from both of you, good2know and WellsThatsLovely. I plan to have half of the room be used as hobby room, and half as a playing area of the kid. The big pattern making and cutting table (for dressmaking) should be close to wall and a dining table, where sewing machines will be placed on, should be next to it closer to the middle.

The kids playing area should not have any furniture, or maybe just small one for kids.

Another factor determining placement is obstructions - steel beams, furnace plenums, plumbing stacks etc.
