Default Slide-in accomodation

I have my design appointment very soon. I am unsure about the slide-in accommodation. I am not sure if this is necessary. My understanding is that they might cut the counters a little bit differently and that they put a piece of the quartz behind the stove to fill in the gap.

But! Most slide-ins are designed to replace a standard range . They have gap fillers at the back and I think they should all be the same width. Because the standard slot is supposed to be 30". I also imagine it might be harder to change the range for a different one in the future (say the gap at the back is slightly different)

What do you guys think? The slide-in accommodation costs $400 for what its worth.

ps I do realize that slide-in questions seem to be the most popular on this board, but I havent really found an answer that puts my concerns to rest.

If you have a slide-in range, I'd pay for the upgrade. We had the option and I chose to spend that extra money on the range itself instead of a "different hole", and ours was $900 for the accommodation. We ended up upgrading to a thermador freestanding range which has the option of a flat cooktop the same as a slide-in with the controls in the front.
