I just received a delay notification in the mail. My closing date was pushed back from July 2012 to November 2012. A full two years after I purchased, yikes!

I just recieved a notice indicating that my closing date is being pushed back 4 months from June 2012 to October 2012. Anyone know the reason? Seemed to me they were on a good pace. Broke ground in June 2011, I was told that as long as they broke ground by then that everything should be on time.

Just receiced my notification of delay as well from June to October, apparently they don't have the proper authorization/permits to build from the city.. hopefully it won't be delayed any further than this.

I've owned a claridge home for almost 3 years now and haven't had any major issues. All small issues have been resolved by the builder at the 30 day and 1 year, no questions asked. We absolutely love our house!

Just trying to share my experiences from claridge. I find people keep bashing them? but haven't actually met anyone in my neighbourhood or friends that have had issues with them (other then someone I know who purchased a condo at lebreton flats a few years ago and there were delays with the closing date).
So i guess because I praise they're good work, I must be working for them??

I too just wanted to say that I am in the process of buying a Claridge home at Royal Ridge and have had no major issues yet. Two of my friends recently closed ahead of schedule and are happy so far with the result. I too have read alot of people bashing Claridge on these forums but I think they have improved their quality over the last couple of years because I have talked to many people who have moved into claridge towns and singles and haven't had many complaints.

I have been told from someone that the retention pond they are building needs to be re-engineered as it failed. Our closing was May 2012 and now Sept 2012. Very upset.

Oh and the excuse of not having permits, it not the truth as the utilities are already in which means the permits most likely are done.

I am in process of purchasing a single home in FC with Claridge home. I found a lot of bad commands with this builder from the past (at lease 4 years back). So far, I don’t see any major bad reviews.

Was told by Claridge that they are going to start pouring the foundation in February. Also, I received a Design Centre package and am expecting a call for an appointment soon ish. Anybody else have any news of the development/design centre?
