Default Windows without nailing flange

Just received Pollard windows for my cottage. It is a new construction.
I realized then these windows don’t have nailing flanges.
But most of the videos showing how to install windows are for the ones with nailing flanges.
It made me wonder that is nailing flange a “standard” thing and I missed it when I ordered windows.
Any pros and cons for flangeless windows?
Thanks.
