Is it safe with the 28" clearance over gas range?
That 28" clearance is fine. Note Clause 7.32.4
A residential-type range shall have the following minimum clearances from combustible material (a) above — 30 in (750 mm)

The key word here is combustible which of course your range hood is not.

Thanks a lot for the confirmation. I see your point.

HI Everyone

I am new to this forum so hoping I am posting in the correct area.

Question, is it true that Remington will have final closings sometime in March?
If so, when exactly in March, mid-end?
Thanks!

Has anyone tried to get out of the monthly water heater rental? I would rather buy the system instead of renting.

I don't believe you can - I believe that's standard practice with all water heaters (new or resale homes)

This has been my life's mission lol
They closest I've gotten is to wait until they're old enough that they're worthless and breaking down so they'll have to replace it and then get out of the contract and buy your own.

Is there any code on air return vents? I have air return vent missing in my family room. I have one each in all other rooms. I have checked other same models and they have it in their family room. Mine is 3200 sq. feet nodel.

There is no requirement that an Air Return be in each room. There is a code where if a bedroom for example has no Air Return then there must be a gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. This would not apply in your situation.

Lightbulb

Hey guys, I moved in to my new Remington home over the weekend and there's one thing I can't quite figure out... how do those automatic light switches work? I have a problem with the basement light switch where it turns off automatically after 5 seconds even when I'm moving in the basement. Is there a way to change how long the light stays on when motion is no longer detected?

There are two buttons on this automatic light switch. There's the large button on the bottom, and there's the smaller rectangular button in the middle (right above a small light). I've tried fruitlessly to figure out which each of these two buttons do but no luck. I can't figure out the manufacturer of the switch so I can't look up any instructions online.
