Thanks foxborough! We are really looking forward to being able to entertain - the dining room is one of my favorite features of the house

The kitchen looks awesome, I love it! I'll send a couple pics to your email (if I still have it).

We just returned from a trip to Ottawa and are seriously considering a Richcraft house in Trailsedge. We are moving to Ottawa from Vancouver later this year/early 2013) We have actually reserved a lot. But I have some questions about the dump...where is it in proxiity to the development. We drove around the nighbourhood quite a bit but didn't noitice it.

I haven't noticed any smell from the dump yet... I think you'd have to be closer to it to notice. I'm pretty sure there's an entire thread on the topic, you may want to do a search!

After I made my post, I did do a search, but it really didn't answer my questions. There seems to be very different opinions on the impact to nearby neighbourhoods. I will say that while we were exploring, we didn't notice anything.

We just spent 5 days in Ottawa trying to get a feel for where we would like to live. We looked at Riverside South, Greely, drove out to Kanata and Barrhaven and spent some time driving around Orleans. We found a lot on Contour in Trailsedge that we really like. One of the things that my husband hates is newer developments that have been bulldozed of any character and look like a "moonscape" as he calls it.

We are empty nesters and don't need a big house nor do we want a large lot to maintain. We want relatively easy access to downtown, where my husband will be working, easy access to transit, shopping, and trails and parks. One of the things we liked about Trailsedge was its proximity to Rockcliff Parkway. The only thing that has us concerned is the dump.
