Pretty good price for a belt driven, and 2/3HP.

Canadian Tire had the Genie Belt driven 3/4HP cheaper last month.

I believe that most Sears are made by Chamberlain?

There is no 2/3rd, so yes it would be 3/4.

Sears Craftsman are made by Chamberlain.

Genies are terrible to install and service.

I happen to disagree with you. I installed both SEARS and Genie. Both are easy to install, but the Genie unit was a lot quieter than the SEARS unit. Also, the Genie unit seemed much better quality. I never had any issues with any of the units, so I could not comment on the service side. Hope this helps.

I've installed 3 Genies, and there were problems with 2 of them. One with a disfunctional motor, one with an intermittant transmitter.

I've installed 1000+ Chamberlain/Craftmans and there were problems with 2 of them. Both with a bad PCB apparently from the same batch.

I've also gone out to service 3 Genies, not installed by me.. All with broken limiters because of how they mount on the track.

Of course your milage may vary, but there is a reason why I will not install Genies for clients any more.

I have this opener, took me (who is rather uneducated in terms of handyman stuff) about 3 hours to install it. So far its been working great no issues to report. I've used the battery feature twice already and it worked great.

Be sure to google for a sears.ca coupon, there is usually one for $20 off you should find it on redflagdeals.
