Does anyone know how much they are charging to put hardwood on the full main floor? Also are they allowing some strutual changes?

How are the prices with upgrades on floor tiles and kitchen cabitnets. That is the area I would like to upgrade the most.

I basically just asked for the upgrade price on everything, i'm going to upgrade most things on my own. 50% of the upgrade cost is due upfront, and the rest is put towards your mortgage. They are allowing structural changes but has to be approved, someone will be getting back to me on hardwood upgrade prices, once I found out i'll let you know. I'm still waiting to hear if i am allowed to add a window in my kitchen and having an open to below staircase down to the basement ( quoted approx 9 K :s)

We all know that builders overcharge for upgrades especially on hardwood floors. Unless you have standard hardwood on the main floor & you are just upgrading to a diff. stain colour, you can install identical hardwood your builder would after closing for less $$ Plus you can still re-use your carpet in the basement once removed, builder will not credit you for the carpet that you have already paid for.

Was there any indication on the price to increase main floor ceilings to 10 ft and basement ceilings to 9 ft?

From what i could gather i'm thinking minimum 10-15 K , i have a hunch they won't allow you to raise the height of the basement ceiling and not sure if they do 10 foot ceilings on main floor, might only be able to do 9 foot on 2nd floor.

Thanks for the info,
I figured the cost to increase ceiling heights on our model would be in the area of 15-20k (this was based on conversations with friends and family who had priced out the upgrade in their new homes in years past)

My plan is to have 10 ft main floor, 9 ft basement and 9 ft second floor ceilings.

Not sure what they are going to allow us to do in the development.
Guess ill have to wait until my structural appointment in early April.

No problem... the upgrade from 100 to 200 amp is i think if you have plans to finish your basement or if you will be getting a hot tub in the back yard in the near future.
