Question Upgrades - where will/did you put 'em?

I'm just curious...
What are your important upgrades? Everyone seems to have different priorities when it comes to upgrades.
We are pretty handy, so we did the things that would be more difficult to do later...
We are putting most of them in the kitchen and lighting that would be harder to do afterwards (like pot lights), we upgraded the subfloor (to plywood - for hardwood before we move in - only to make the harwood go in that much faster)... We upgraded the ensuite shower (from an angled corner, to a 40" square) and some double sinks... We'll probably spend a little bit more on finishings (cabinets, tiles and counters) but that's about it...
What were your important upgrades, or did anyone not do any upgrades??

We have already chosen or will choose the following (some already done at structural, and we have yet to do design):

*finished basement. At only $11,400 for 700sq feet, and 5 in our family, it was a fairly easy choice.

*speaker pre-wiring

*approximately 25 potlights, vast majority on main floor

*shower light in ensuite

*upgraded to stainless hood fan

*upgraded all-glass shower in ensuite

*central air installation. Balanced this with our need to have funds available for furnishings, appliances, light fixtures, window coverings, closing and moving costs...this is our first house and we have no equity to lean on. If we had more cash, we would do this ourselves, most likely.

*central vac toe kick in kitchen

*upgraded front door to one with glass panes. The standard was full steel.

*extra stuff set up for wall-mounted TV (beam, conduit, etc)

*replaced sliding doors with swing doors in all three bedrooms (master already has)

*frosted glass in powder room

*telephone faucet in the roman tub in ensuite

*40" cabinet uppers

*upgraded flooring to maple, plus throughout kitchen/eat-ine in place of ceramic

*extra capped outlets

*carpet underpad and possibly carpet (probably carpet)

*upgraded spindles/railing style and wood

*perhaps some kitchen cupboard extras, but may do afterward, like pull-outs for recycling, spice cabinet, lazy susan, etc.

We will have to decide whether we want to upgrade cabinet or ceramic tile colour or levels when the time comes. We haven't had much time to get to the design centre. Actually, we haven't gone since we purchased a couple months ago. We did go once before we finally submitted an offer to purchase.

We would have added wiring options, but our place comes as wired as wired can get. It's absurb almost. We have a 4-outlet switchplate with those cabley looking things everywhere, even our bathroom :S. And fibre wired right into the house. And conduit everywhere.

Soho West - Kanata

Uh...make that Trailwest...
