I don't know how long they are, but the instructions say to drill a whole 2 inches into the wall stud. so I guess the screws are 2 inches or a bit more.

Every time my kids pull out and turn the TV to watch it from the kitchen I am sure they are going to pull it off the wall. I know they won't but the way they pull on it I am glad that I used lag screws.

That said, I know I used 4 lag screws to attach the mount to the two studs but I have no idea how securely the two studs are actually attached to the top and bottom plates. I'm not scared that it will come apart but I am pretty sure that my lag screws are probably not the weakest point in the whole setup.

homie i'm guessing the kit is 1/4 or 3/8 lags

so predrill the hole (the kit will tell you what size but you want it the size of the lag shaft - so the threads are outside that)

construction screws have low shear strengthat the head so best to avoid those imo

Question is, how many posts does it take to install four lag bolts/screws?

You done yet? Photos or it's not installed!
