I bought during their 2nd phase in Barrhaven back in 2005. I really liked it, although I had a lot of problems with mine. I am certain Tartan has fixed this by now though.

As for upgrades, I definitely would recommend a light in the shower/tub area. Also, upgrade your underpadding, not your actual carpet. Unless you do hardwood. Which I wouldn't recommend. Their pre-engineered floors are really soft and it looks awful after the first month. I wish I didn't waste my money on that option. I didn't find the noise level too bad, but we were on the top level. And our furnace was really quiet... but that was 5 years ago, so maybe they changed???

Good luck, and congrats on your new condo!

Thanks
I did upgrade the underpad. I am excited to watch the process unfold.I did not think of a light in the shower though - seems like a good idea.
I did upgrade the kitchen cabinets and added pots and pans drawers. I was pleased with the selection that tartan was offering.
as for the hardwood - I considered it but was unsure of how it would hold up - I am glad that I stuck with the carpet.
