Default Garage door opener on a high lift door

I'm installing a standard trolley garage door opener for my new home. My garage has a high ceiling and the garage door tracks turn at a larger radius to reach a higher height (top tracks are about 2 feet higher than the top of my 7ft door).

The garage opener door arm that comes is too short to attach from the rail down to the door. How do I get around this? Is it simply a matter of extending the door arm or do I need to buy and add an extra panel for my garage door?

So I called the garage door company (they had installed my door), and they said I needed to get a boom extension from the hardware store where I bought my chamberlain garage door opener. Now on to figuring out what that is...

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing. Just extend it myself.

The boom extension turned out to be a rail extension, and that's not really what I need (my garage door is standard 7ft, so no belt/rail extension needed. It's just that the tracks have a turn radius that is larger than normal leading to a higher lift).

A longer connector to the door will also mean that it will not travel as far, which means the door will not go up as high. This may or may not be an issue. If it is an issue then a rail extension kit will fix that.

Attached a picture of the track and how high it goes. I'm thinking I should be okay without a rail extension as that turn will also take up some of the garage height. We'll see how it works out.

Updating this thread after a while. Did the install WITH rail extension. It was necessary to bring the door up fully.
