Smile Howdy Mill Pond Future Neighbours

Hello all!

You all seem very excited about your new homes, as are we! This is our 2nd house with Mattamy - needless to say, we've been pretty happy with them as a builder.

We first bought our townhouse in Oakville, which we just sold as we wait for our new home in Mill Pond. We bought the Grand Valley Corner - Lot 114. We're pretty pumped to be moving up to a bigger home, but man it was hard to leave behind our townhouse as we loved it very much. And, it's going to be very different communiting from Cambridge, but worth it. My husband works in Oakville and I in Mississauga (we are currently living in Brampton short term).

We've been through the building process already and have learned things along the way. First off... upgrades can be a rip off through the builder. Only do upgrades that you can afford and are too difficult to do later. You have time to invest in those "extras" and sometimes the builder can be limiting in choices. Mattamy's selection is definitely top-notch, but there's lots out there.

One piece of advice as our homes are being built... when you go through your walk-through, be picky. Is a corner isn't square, point it out. Check for light switch locations, floor squeaks, etc. Mattamy is a great builder, but you've spend all this money and your home should be perfect!

Our home is scheduled to close March 12/09. Comin' up fast! Any questions along the way, let us know! Any advice you guys have, please share - especially about the town as we're new to Cambridge!

Take care
Grand Valley, Lot 114

I don't think there should be too many late closings. My closing date was revised by Mattamy from Dec 2009 to July 2009. Good news for me since I've already sold my house.

Does anybody have any insight into what that old house will be? The one on Baldwin Drive, in front of Lot 55, near the townhomes? It's an home they're keeping, but I don't believe anybody lives there now. It would be great if they turned that into a convenience store!

WOW, the homes are going up fast! Our foundation is in and it's looking good! Can't wait to see the walls go up.

Off the top of my head I can't think of which home you're talking about.
Going to make sure that I check it out when I am up there this sunday!

I agree, a corner store would be super handy to have!
