Yeah this one looks like a good model. Thanks patrob.

Had 2 questions:

1) Can this be used on a double door (2 separate doors) ... or do I have to buy 2 of them?

2) Heard somewhere 3/4 is not recommended for normal doors as it might be too strong .... has anyone used 3/4 on a single door?

You'll need two of them. Assuming that each of your doors is single-car-sized, you don't need the 3/4 hp. Save yourself some money and buy the 1/2 hp models.

So would a 3/4hp be good for a double door then? I don't know anything about garage door openers.

The one posted by patrob (chamberlain from costco) is fine for a double door. That's what I have. It's got a DC motor with soft start. Even quieter than the regular belt drive.

So far the cheapest belt drive Chamberlain opener I found is from Home Depot for $289.00 without any of the extra features found on the Costco deal. So for $6 more, you are getting a much better package deal (just the wireless keypad alone costs $46) even if you don't necessarily need the 3/4 hp. strength.

Exclamation

Looks like the garage opener is on sale again at Sears for $269.99. So if anyone missed the previous sale, this is the 2nd lowest price! Not sure when the sale ends.
