Default Minto in Avalon (Garage doors/French patio doors)

Hello everyone,

I have been reading the comments in this Forum for the last several weeks and wanted to thank all of you for your insightful and very useful commentary on a variety of subjects!

I purchased a Bradley, elevation B model in Avalon closing in July 2009 and was wondering if anybody selected French Patio Doors off the kitchen? Does Minto allow this? Also, did anyone get a second garage door? The side clearances for these singles are tight and I was wondering if Minto allows back doors in the garages (probably no room . . . )

First appointment coming up with Design Centre in mid-Sept and I have been researching this forum but have not found any relevant info about these issues.

Thanks everyone - you're the best!

MM

Hi MsMinto

You can get garden doors in lieu of your patio doors but they open inward - so you have to make sure you can spare the space.

Minto will do extra doors (side or rear) but only if your lot is large enough - your designer will be able to tell you this at your appointment.

From my experience Minto will try to make the changes that you ask as long as they are approved by code/architectural.

Here are some pictures that we took of towns in progress. The first picture shows the upgraded patio doors (opening inwards as BiggieG mentioned). The second picture shows the upgraded patio doors vs standard doors from outside. I prefer the standard ones since there's more glass.

Thank you both for your prompt replies and the pictures! This will help me in deciding.

We had the choice of different doors for the patio but kept the sliding ones as we wanted to have lots of space for our table (we were also told they would swing in, so maybe that's a standard thing??). Garage side door and laundry room door are only possible on certain models.

Its code for them to swing inwards (otherwise the hinges would be on the outside and one could easily remove them).

Krismom - did you join our group?

Yes I did!! Well, I found *a* group for Chapman Mills so unless there is more than one! lol

We will be driving out again in mid-Sept to see if our excavation has started! We saw a few Picadilly's on Haileybury last time we were out there, which one are you?
