Default 1 Year Home Inspection

We will soon be getting to our 1 yr point in the new house...wow has time flown!! We are looking to get a home inspector in as we have not had one yet. We were thinking of getting a Mike Holes approved inspector which seems to run somwhere between $600-1000 depending on the package we choose..Has anyone used this service, or can anyone recommend someone, we were wondering about the full package with the holmes approved which includes the infrared, thermal imaging is this really necessary or maybe overkill?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!!

Our building inspector, Mark from The Full Storey, was extremely thorough and used the infrared thermal camera when needed. He also filled in our Tarion forms for us.
He came highly recommended by more than a few people. His price was less than $500 with tax.
Good luck!

Interesting trying to decide on an Home Inspector. Is a great home inspector one that finds things or doesn't? I would suggest you check here: http://www.cahpi-ontario.org/default...rs&area=ottawa and find the most qualified. A quick look and you will see that many have Engineering degrees.

yes by all means go with the most qualified inspector, preferrably P.Eng designation.....

A family member recently bought a resale home and hired the same inspector. I leafed through the inspection report and it's very nicely done up. He even took the time and effort to circle the trouble spots in the pics he took.

Default Home Inspection

We just completed our 30 day with Dan Legault from DML Home Inpsections - 613-324-3594.

My son also used him for his 'older' home last year and my daugther used him for her brand new townhome in Bridlewood Trails.

Highly recommend him - if you want thorough - i think he was past the 4.5 hours at our place the other day for the 30 day inspection. He will also prepare the report that needs to be faxed into both Tarion and Builder and provide you with a separate report for your records will more details and pictures etc.

If you want further information PM me.
