Default Rogers

My closing date is coming near and I was hoping I could get some feedback from anyone who has Rogers for their home Phone. I myself currently live i Markham and have Rogers for my home phone but I have been having a real issue with the service. When I am on the phone, the person I am talking to has a real hard time hearing me, if at all, and the line dops. I have talked to Rogers about this numerous times and they seem to think it's because of the area I am in and the signals may not be strong. I have everything else with Rogers so i would like to continue using them, but I will switch to Bell if this is happening in Stouffville as well. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

Hi Tanya
I've used Bell in the past for cell phones, internet and a homeline and all I can say is that as long as I have a choice I will steer clear of Bell. I've never been satisfied with their level of customer service and I have found on several occasions their billing department has screwed up. I prefer Rogers their service is much much better. Thats just my opinion though i'm sure others may disagree.

if you choose to go with rogers for internet, keep in mind that they have been using packet shaping tech for over a year now... They have it in some areas and not others. hit or miss!

if you are a downloader this will P/O you to no end... can you say less then 30kbs download speeds with P2P..

I am on bell for my internet and have nothing really bad to say about their service.. They are starting to use the same tech but they only control speeds during the day and evening. Overnight P2P download speeds are golden.

We have Rogers for phone/internet/TV/cellphone. We've had a couple of problems with internet going down but nothing major. No problems with the phone, never had the line drop. Plus you get up to 15% discount depending on how many services you have thru them.

"Signals not being strong" is somewhat of a silly statement of them. If you have a Rogers box in your basement where the incoming telephone line is, then it's a digital signal coming into the house. A digital signal means it is either going to work, or not work, there is no signal 'fade'.


Even for analogue service that doesn't make a lot of sense either. It's a new subdivision with all new equipment. It's going to be digital up to about a block away from you.

We have our Phone and Internet with Rogers. I have been very pleased with the Internet service since I have been with Rogers (~6 yrs now).

The home phone service has been great. I switch from bell 6 years ago to Vonage and as a computer guy I didn't mind it too much, it had it's ups and downs and general failures but between having the knowledge to deal with them, and having my cell phone as a backup I was sufficient. Once I was married I realized how difficult a product this was. The number of times that I would have to reset my vonage router to restore the connection was oblivious to me until I had to explain the process to someone else.

All in all I am very happy with Rogers. Their customer service leaves much to be desired however the services are well packaged.

we have bell for everything and are happy with them.. customer service sometimes lacks but otherwise we're happy!
