I think this happens so often here because there is never any parking enforcement around and people know it. There is a 3hr bylaw on all residental streets unless posted otherwise. If a car is blocking your driveway, even partially, you can have it ticketed. If it's just constantly parked in front of your house parking enforecement can come, chalk the tires and return 3 hrs later to ticket it if it's still there and hasn't moved. I know that isn't the most polite thing to do but if it's becoming an issue it may be the only way to deter people from parking there all the time. Once they know they could get a ticket I bet they'd stop parking there.

you cant do anything about the guest, people can be ignorant or should i say stupid when it comes to SIMPLE things such as COURTESY.

but you can do something about your neighbor by talking to them politely and mention your concern.

all the best.

Point taken, but does not justify inconveniencing someone by overhanging. The guest simply needs to drive a little further to find a spot that can accomodate their car.

But you definitely are on the money with the tighter roads, smaller lots, etc.

yes the roads are a bit smaller, it is terrible but not reason enough for someone who doesnt live in that neighbourhood to be bothering people who live there.

i think if people are having guests, they should at least be responsible, in a way, where and how to park so as not to inconvenience the other homeowners.

Neighbourhood disputes are never fun. SiD, I know backing down isn't always easy, but do be careful about how you proceed. They know where you live and you really don't want this to escalate into something far worse.

Does anyone know any phone number to call? Perhaps parking enforcement?
