Default Minto Questions: Realtors and negotiations

Hi I was wondering if anyone can tell me if Minto works with realtors i.e. pays the buyers realtor commission from the sale of the home?
Also has anyone been successful in having say upgraded carpet and underpad included in the posted sale price. I know many builders do not lower their selling price.. but was wondering about having extras included

Minto will not do either of those.

Most builders won't work a realtor unless there is no fee. The bigger builders will never negotiate either.

Last I checked Minto gave 2.5% commission to buyers' agents upto a purchase price of $350K. so if your home cost more than $350K, the commission to the agent would be capped at 2.5% of $350K.

Did you actually get that, or just hear of it?

When we bought our place they said that they never pay the fees, so the only way to work with them is to pay them out of pocket.

Minto Avalon will pay realtors. Fact.

Minto will not negotiate on anything, period. Minto will not even give you a lawyer review/financing period. Once you put a deposit down, it's done.

Wow, I guess things have changed since we bought, which was over 4 years ago now.

I looked into this recentely and know that Richcraft and Urbandale pay agent commissions. Urbandale I believe pays 2% utpo $7500. We are going with an agent to buy a new home because he is discounting his rate significantly when we sell our house through them.

Happy shopping !

Speaking from experience ... although technically I didn't get it - the realtor did.
