Default Can't get to houses

We tried to go and look at our house today, but security has blocked off the road and wouldn't let us in. He said to come back during regular business hours and to go to the site trailer.

Has anyone done this and have they let you into see your house. I thought they wouldn't let you in.

Does anyone have any idea at what time you can pick up the keys on your closing date. I know someone who bought a Mattamy home and they can't get their keys until 5:00 p.m. That sucks as the whole day is wasted.

Anyone moving in this month September ? OUr closing date is October 13 and we just finally SOLD our house in Mississauga last night and the closing date on the house we are in now is Oct. 19. So we have a few days to get moved in whcih will be nice.

Default Gravel Driveways

We went by today as well and luckily were able to get in, when we left the road was fully blocked. It was about 2 when we went by and there were still workers coming and going so I think that is why the road was open. We noticed that a lot of the driveways had gravel and many of the houses had pathways from the driveway to the front door. This included most of the houses on Vickerman way and about the first half dozen on the west side of Holdsworth, lot 49 down. A couple on the east side of Holdsworth, across the street from lot 49, had been done as well, or had a pile of gravel in the driveway ready to be done.

From past experience, and talking with others, when you get your keys is when the lawyers, the bankers, and the paperwork is all done. This can be any time throughout the day. For most people we have talked to this tends to occur in the afternoon.

We have not heard of anyone closing in September. We talked to the couple that were supposed to be the first to close in May and I am pretty certain they said they were closing in mid October as well. So you will be one of the first ones into the neighbourhood as well, we will not be seing you until the end of November.

Congrats on selling your house. We are just getting ready to list and are also in Mississauga, we are hoping for a quick sale. Was your house listed for a long time or was it a pretty quick sale. If you don't mind me asking what general area of Mississauga are you in, we are in the Derry road and 9th Line area, just want to get a feel for how quick the market is moving in Mississauga.

Smile Sold our house

Hi PGHRRM,

Our new closing date with Sundial is Dec 15th. We live in Missisauga - Derry & 10th Line area. We were debating on WHEN to put our house up for sale...but finally decided to try our luck and we put it up at the end of July. 2 weeks later, our house was sold with 98% of our asking price and 2 weeks short of our closing with Sundial.
In the 2 weeks it was up, we did one Open House and had numerous showings..which led to multiple offers.
We are taking a chance that our new house might be ready 2 weeks early...seeing as Christmas is only 10 days away...we'll keep our fingers crossed!
If not, we'll be moving into a hotel...I'm sure our kids will love that!
Let us know if you don't have an agent yet...we would recommend ours in a heartbeat!!!

Default House That Sold

Well, we weren't as lucky as the other person. Our house was listed in May and then we took it off the markert at the beginning of August. Went back on the market 2 weeks ago and sold within 2 weeks. I guess we got caught in the slow summer months. We live in Sheridan Homelands (Winston Churchill Blvd. & Dundas St.). Older neighbourhood, large lots we have a bungelow and back onto the back of a school yard and live on a cresecent.

Atleast it is SOLD now and the closing is coming home.

We would be interested in knowing what agent you used, especially since we are currently in the same neighbourhood. We are planning on listing within the week and are evaluating agents. Wouldn't be surprised if we passed each other in Timmy's.

Default Real Estate Agent

Hi PGHRRM,

Our agents name is Elvis Vogrin and he is with Remax.
He can be reached at 905-272-3434 or via email at evogrin@trebnet.com
He also has a website that you can visit www.elvisvogrin.com

This was our first time selling a home and we had a wonderful experience with him. He was upfront, honest and took the time to explain everything. He has sold numerous homes in the area and is knowledgeable and well informed. He was very accommadating, available and listened to our suggestions and our "wants" as a seller. We definitely feel like this was team work!

Please let him know that Paul and Chantal referred you!

Default Mississauga to Milton

Paul and Chantal thanks for the info on the agent, we'll look him up.

Looks like a few of us from the neighbourhood are leaving for Milton....that's pretty funny.
We do like Mississauga however the price was right for the upgrade to a bigger house. We now have 4 kids are are feeling the squish!! We will still return for the old faithful "Bread and Honey Festival".

We got into the site yesterday, October 16 (5:30pm). The guard was there and there was an opening in the pylons, I waved to him and drove on through. We are on the first leg of Easterbrook, walked through our house (I know not ours yet) and took some pictures. The neighbours behind us were taking pictures of their lot, and we saw quite a few other people driving around and taking pictures as well. It was pretty exciting. Just my security update for you all.

We also managed to get in no problem on Saturday, October 14th around 5:00pm...the one pilon was moved out of the way, and the security guard was up by one of the houses.
