Default Humidity between window panes?

A couple of the windows in our house have humidity that doesnít go away and we cannot touch it, so Iím assuming itís between the panes of glass. Iíve never had this is any home Iíve ever lived in. Wouldnít it mean thereís something wrong with the window seal?

The seal between the panes of glass has failed allowing air in between the panes of glass. Air holds moisture which has now formed on the glass. The moisture may or may not always be visible.

There is no way to repair this other than replacing the panes of glass.

The issue is only cosmetic but still an unfortunate premature failure.

If you are in a development then I expect some of your neighbours have the same problem.

Lame Tarion warranty coverage is 2 years unless the manufacturer chooses to help.

The space between the panes is filled by argon gas. If the seal fails, normal air will fill the space eventually. I suppose it is not just cosmetic, but will affect the performance of the window.

The only effect is visual. After using infra-red for 10 years I have yet to see a lost seal window have any r-value effect.

That's good to know. We end users can only go by the feature list.

We've experienced the same thing recently. We built with Tartan around the same time as you. If they used the same company, your windows are still under warranty through Dalmen (10 year warranty). This will cover the cost of the windows but not the labour. The cost of labour is actually relatively low and the install takes very little time. I'd suggest reaching out to the window company listed in your home owner's manual.
