Default Eavestroughs for House in Poole Creek

Good day,

We have some quotations for our house around 2,000 sq/ft, and range from $1500 (Found by this forum) to $2000 (Referred by builder).

Should we go for one referred by builder due to new home warranty coverage?

Does anyone has a quotation or installation recently in Poole Creek or nearby area?

Thanks,

I have a quote from Prevision for 3000 square feet house (Minto Potter's Key Development). $1,225 + TAX for heavy duty brackets, additional $750 + TAX for T-REX System, and $50 to upgrade to 3 x 3 down pipes.

I was told to wait after one year inspection. Someone told me that if you're directing the water away from your house and there is a crack in foundation you you won't know. Also someone mentioned it might void one year warranty on roof.

I am still debating on this one, install or not install.

The installer will give you a warranty as well and if you're saving ~$500 by doing it privately afterwards, I'd say it's a no-brainer.

That said, if you don't have an additional $1,500 to put out after closing costs and want to roll it into your mortgage, I suppose your option is clear, but it'll end up costing you far more than $2,000 over the life of your mortgage.

Good luck!

Your quote is more reasonable than us, although we are in different area.

We have the same concern about the roof warranty, but somebody also said that the eavestroughs can prevent ice and snow damage the roof.

Poole Creek is not too far from Potter's Key. Five minute drive the most.

But my quote for smaller house is ~$300 more than yours.

I'm pretty sure the builder recommends them because they get a kickback. But all of these companies will negotiate heavily so just take the lower quote back to the builder's guys (probably Modern, right?) and make them work for your business!

Unless you have it in writing that the builder will honor their warranty but only if their "recommended" company does the install, that is just a sales tactic. And, like someone else said, all these companies have their own warranties in case they mess something up.

We got a quote of $1,095 + taxes for a townhome (1834 sq, end unit) with Precision. It seems pretty high considering some are paying slightly more for single homes.

That's actually quite reasonable, IMO. If you're unsure, get a few more quotes and see if they are in the same ballpark - I think you'll find they are.

My parents paid more for their 3 story townhome. They were told that it is because of having to go up an extra floor as compared to the traditional single family home.
