Default Matammy Grand Opening - take a number please

I wish I had my camera with me this morning. The place was busy, there was a long line up just to get in the sales centre - we didn't bother going in to see. There were also police and volunteers I believe to handle the traffic and pedestrians crossing.

We Just took the brochure home designs and price list with us. My boys enjoyed the air slide that were there but the open field wind made it really cold.

Anybody made it out there? Let us know what you think of the designs/prices.

I somewhat made it out there. I was there to see what the value of my house would be...and it has already gone up in price.

I didn't bother with going in....as it look like you would have to wait at least an hour or so...

Supposdly, people were waiting since yesterday morning to get the first crack at the houses...I guess some people really want that dream lot.

HMB apparently selling quickly from talking to the customer care rep (Steve). They are also selling a bit of widelot towns in that area.

He also informed me that prices will go up a bit after this weekend. I've noticed that there is a big price difference between barrhaven and kanata. Wowzers...15K in the towns and a lot more in the singles...

My neighbour went and said a 3000sq. foot home was approximately 455,000.

Same range as Minto...

Hope this helps!

Wowzers! We paid $271K for the Highwood elevation 'A' in Fairwinds (plus a
3K lot premium)! It went up 4K a week after we bought it but hasn't gone up since.

$15K more to live in Barrhaven! Yikes...but I guess some people love it there and I can't blame them for buying what they want! These prices probably don't consider the lots that require lot premiums!

Yeah I can see the $15K premium for living here. Even riverside south compare to barrhaven has the same.

People really need to do their comparison shopping these days between what builders have to offer. Those prices seem high for what you are getting.
