Default HRV cost

Hello,

as upgrading AC with the home builder doesn't seems cost much more, I am wondering how much more HRV would cost with the builder. Anybody has his/her HRV installed after closing? How much you paid? does it vary much for different brands?

Thanks

Here are some previous threads on HRV and ERV. There are two different installations. Dedicated (own ductwork) and Simplified (using furnace's duct work).
Dedicated can only be done with the builder and it's more expensive. Simplified can be done afterwards.

If your builder will do a dedicated install then it may be worth looking into them doing it. If not, do it after closing. My builder would not do it so I hired my own HVAC contractor. I chose Vanee ERV unit.

HRV simplified install- approx $1800
ERV simplified install -approx $2600

We upgraded to an Venmar HRV with Richcraft and paid $1800. The price seemed quite reasonable.
