Canada Post actually came to our house yesterday and gave us our new keys and they worked.
Was it a trade you saw urinating or a resident? That's too funny.
Got a call today for our new fridge, we are finally getting it Friday or Saturday!

Hi new inhabitants of Maple Grove

I live in the house with the big bbq and glass table forgotten over winter. I just wanted to welcome you all to the hood! It is fabulous you will see, and the people are pretty nice I gotta say! Some of my neighbours (and us!) are getting the itch to fence; if anyone has thought about it at all, what kind would you like?

I am also wondering if Lot 127 is on here... because they are the ones we would need to talk to specifically Yoo hoo... are you here 127?

See you around! I'm the one with the bright orange stroller. Can't miss me!

Pauline

Hi Pauline

I am in Lot 127. Nice to read you . We are closing on the 22nd and are definately looking forward to meeting everyone. As for a fence, I prefer that there be nothing at all. That way I can borrow your stuff when you are not home LOL . Since none of us newbies can build for a year, it will be just the backing fence for now. My wife and I are game for everything except PVC. I hope to not offend but I have a strong dislike for the look. Feel free to send me a pm and we can discuss or better yet you can wait a week and we can do it in person. The fridge won't be in until I put in the hardwood, but I have lots of coolers and ice to keep things cold. If you see lights on come for a beverage and bring a hammer. If you see me hitting something with mine, bring a bigger hammer .

I am the house with all the kids toys in the backyard. I was wondering if lot 126 is on the forum? my backyard hits both Lot 125 and lot 126, so I think it may be hard to figure out payments for the fences..

But I have a company coming for a quote on Saturday at 230 so if you see someone out there measuring it is for a quote.

We're definitely interested in a fence, but we're at the end of the block... Maple Grove folk can't have a fence installed until 2011, though, so you guys might be on your own for now.

PS, if anyone's shopping for eavestrough quotes please let me know. I think that's another "you have to wait 1 year or you void your warranty" thing, though.

We noticed that when we moved in that we would have to be talking to 3-4 houses to split the cost...your right, it's going to be interesting figuring our payments when 20% of your yard hits own house then 80% hits the other and then you have your two neighbors on either side.

Even if we can't get a fence for a year can't Vendevale still get one and work out the cost of the back of the fence? Or will that not work cause it has to be on both property lines?
Maybe you guys can just get sides for your fence and enjoy looking at our lovely faces for the next year

As for eavesthough, we have a company that we use at work to do our eavesthoughing, we just switched to a new contractor and I'm just just waiting to see how good he is with the first few jobs we gave him last week.
Even if my boss ends up going back to Maize..which we have used in the past. I might be able to get a good price because we give eavethough companies alot of work though our business and we know alot of the salesmen. So if your not in a hurry at all for eavesthough I can see what kind of rate I can get.

I have a question for those doing ceramics on their kitchen after closing. Did any of you remove the base cabinets before putting on the subfloor and ceramics? or did you just work around it? I will be doing the same thing after closing.

I just worked around it. i didn''t even take up the linoleum, I just nailed down some quarter inch plywood and put the tile on top of that. I guess you lose a little height but not much and the door to the backyard still has clearance. I will post a pic shortly. I then paid a contracter to put in the hardwood in the dining/great rooms, and they did a great job.
