kanata cumberland landscaping.. they did mine at a price that is way more than decent. Neighbours were pissed once they learned that they paid 20 / cedar from costco and would have to do labour while I ended up paying much less than that for cedars that are made for a hedge..

What type of cedar did you pick for your hedge, the Emerald Cedars? white cedar? swamp cedar?

I hate bumping an old thread, but any regrets going with cedars? Do you have chain link also? I can't decide if I should get that done as well as the cedars so that I can completely close in the yard in the future if necessary.

I'm curious to know the cost difference between doing it yourself and getting someone to do it. Can anyone share the price they paid for their hedge installation and for how many feet it was for?

Canadian Tire has ceaders on sale right now for $25 each, if its marganially more expensive to get soeone to put them it would be worth it!

I wish I had enough room to cover both side fences with cedars and am hoping my neighbours will do it.

I ended up paying way less than what my neighbours who had to DIY paid (they were pissed to see how much I paid). My hedge also covers way more than the usual decorative cedars you buy from costco or c-tire.

Pricing: http://www.cumberlandkanatalandscaping.ca/pricing.html I recommend 6' high and put one every 10" or so.

Holy cow!! That pricing is amazing. So you get larger cedars, installed, for a lower price than the "sale" price at the home stores? No brainer!!
