Default Bell Rates rise

Bell just raised their rates again effective Nov 1. Just got my new bill.

Telephone increase -5%
Bell TV increase - 9%

Prior year increase:
Telephone increase -5%
Bell TV increase - 8%

What is the CPI? I would expect the YoY increase to be closer to 3%-5%

It's getting unaffordable to have TV service.

oh but it so they can bring us the best and most up to date reliable services!! LOL

Just spent a hour wiht them the other day... Got them to drop my internet 28$ a month. Cut back my phone to basic... So i think we will drop the line completely. Dropped tv package to the minimum. Pushing us to Netflix and "other" "sources"

Had to tell them im willing to go back to teksavy as they are priced way lower with or without a bundle

the guy in the bell kiosk at square one got me a bundle for $110/mo including home phone (pots, not voip), 25/10 internet, and their "better" tv bundle with tmn and as many hdpvr devices as i wanted. there was an 800# to call to get it done, but didn't take long. cogeco couldn't come close.

Good price.

I'm up to $149/month for TV and phone.

The problem with promos or calling retentions is, I have to do it every year!!

TelkTalk + Teksavvy + OTA channels = $70/month

I refuse to pay $50+ for home phone in this day and age and for TV shows that are on like AMC/HBO there are many many ways to watch them such as netflix, iTunes/Google Play. Pay for what I want and no commercials.

Heard about this - http://www.vmedia.ca/

Might give it a shot considering Bell's bill is a constantly rising bill.

If that would get me TSN HD and for only $25/month, I'd consider giving up my 50/50 Bell FIBE internet connection and going with them. It looks like you can't get TV-only service from them.

tempting..

BUT...
-no pvr?
-multiple vbox needed?
-buffering could be annoying.

I have less and less channels to watch since Rogers TV is switching Analog to digital, it requires digital box, mean I have to rent more boxes if I have more than one TV.
I do have 3 teens at home, they are not watching quite often, most of the time on internet. I may drop cable TV and subscribed Netflex instead in the future.
Since I moved to my new house 9 months ago, I dropped Bell phone service, now I am using Nettalk, it costs me around $3.50 per month. So far I am quite happy with Nettalk.
