![]() We're looking to get our TV mounted above the fireplace. We have the conduit installed already. Does anyone have a recommendation for a company who can do this as well as hook-up our components? I got a quote to do this from Future Shop that came to $600 which included a tilt-mount bracket and various cables. I thought this was expensive but maybe it's the going rate? So any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks ![]() |

If you're comfortable taking a bit of a risk, there are are some on kijiji and usedottawa that offer these services for cheaper prices. you may want to ask for references first however.

We've hired Sig AV in the past. I'm not sure if they do installs if you don't buy the television from them though. You may want to give them a call.

If Signature Audio Video will do it (without purchasing t.v. for them) I'd go with them too!!
They are a great store and have amazing customer service. We got all our stuff there and love the place.

Also, I'm not sure if there is more difficulty involved if the mounting is above the fireplace, but if you're a diy-er, i don't think its that big of a job. Buy a mount from Monoprice.com and a stud finder and it could be pretty straightforward

Agree that, get one from monoprice and do it yourself, it should not be THAT hard. And $600 is just way to much! |

You can buy a nice tilt mount from factory direct on merivale for about $50, pretty much the same stuff you get from monoprice without the wait and expense of shipping. I've installed 2 in my house so far and i'm by no means handy, you just need stud finder, a level, a drill, some painters tape for marking on your walls without actually marking on them, a pencil and a measuring tape. Being extra cautious and taking your time to ensure its done right it should not take you more then an hour or so.

You sure can diy. We bought the mount from Costco, $99 for the one with remote, then about $30 for the cable management from Homedepot.
Took my hubby couple hours, then it's all done. Nice and neat hang over the fireplace. |
