Bell is a telephone provider and owns all the telephone lines.

Cogeco is the cable provider and owns all the cable lines.

Both of them offer telephone service.

Both of them offer internet connectivity.

Both of them offer TV service. (Bell using satellite).

LOL at the risk of sounding rude, you are a master of the obvious! However, my question was geared towards user experience and preference for one over the other. Thanks for your reply it made me chuckle and now I know for sure

This is what was being answered. A lot of people think they can get Rogers when Rogers is not available in Milton.

Default Cogeco

We have just moved and signed up for Cogeco special 3 month promotion through our builder...

I have no problems or bad things to say about their internet service but cable service (customer service and handling not actual picture) is simply attrocious... I've had my issues with rogers... but Cogeco customer service definetely takes the cake... Once my 3 month promotion expires I will definetely be looking for alternatives. Cogeco so far has done nothing to make me want tobe be their customer...

I have been with Cogeco for 5 months now and have not had any problems at all. I have been having problems the past 5 months WITH Bell, even though I don't own a single Bell service. They came to my door twice insisting on hooking up their services on our closing date, when we never signed up with them. Told them 5 times each time that we were with Cogeco. We now get a bill every month $80-$100 for tv services and internet services that we aren't even using. They're not listening to us to close the account!!!

Thumbs up

I'm happy with Cogeco Basis Cable and High Speed Lite Internet service compared to my prior Star Choice Satellite and Rogers Internet service.
I have all sport channels I need like TSN, Sportsnet, the Score and other channel like CNN, CNBC, Discovery Channel, History Television, A&E, Bravo ...

sorry to bring this thread back from the dead... I just wanted to get an updated comparison with these two giants.... for those that have had both or at least seen both services (cable/satellite specifically) do you notice much of a difference in quality with the HD channels? I've heard Bell has much better compression and it's less "pixelated" than Cogeco. For those with Bell, do you have a lot of outages due to bad weather?
