Default Is it possible to add a new windows ?

I want to add a new windows to our side wall. Is it something possible or dont even think about it ? And if yes, how much does it cost approximately ?

It's a side wall, drywall inside, vinyl siding on the outside.

Thank you.

Chances are no.
With how close your neighbours probably are, you will be limited to the amount of glass you have facing each other for firecode.

Then an engineering drawing showing how it is going to be supported to carry the load across the opening.
Then a building permit.
Then the work needs to be done.
You would have to reroute anything that is in the wall including plumbing, electrical, hvac.
Then you can actually install the window.

Not sure what your budget it, but you are looking at thousands to do this depending on the size of the window.

We did it with new construction. It ended up being pretty expensive because the insulation had to be upgraded as well as the water heater (plus all the engineering and permits involved).
The actual "cost" of a window is less than $500 but to do it properly gets expensive.

It's the family room. I'm thinking about adding a 4x6 Windows.

Curious, why would the water heater be involved in adding a new window?

My guess is the venting came out in the same area.

Correct... Evidently you can't just put any hot water tank anywhere in the house and vent it anywhere you want... Who knew? lol (the existing tank could not vent to new location and didn't want existing tank in a new location either).
