what is fix for this

anyone have knowledge on what is best fix for this. See how the trim below the balcony ends in the middle of the brick. There should be no brick there and wood under trim should continue left to edge with aluminum trim over top. have asked the builder but getting no real answer to how to fix it. There is a balcony above this location to the right.

I think the best fix would be a colour coordinated aluminum cap. Reddish brown, or black, or dark brown. Even white works as a last resort.

This is a must fix to prevent water getting in the wall and causing the brick to crumble.
