Exclamation Kings Country Estates Nobleton - Neighborhood Watch

Greetings All,

Wanted to start a thread to help nail some crime that has been going on in the neighborhood. Last night (Sept 24 2014) my neighbor on Black Duck has his work truck broken into and tools stolen during late night hours.

If anyone has any information or seen anything suspicious please report it here. A police report has been filed, but not much they can do.

They will be installing cameras (as will I) very soon. Sad this is happening in such a nice neighborhood.

Heads up that on West Coast Trail a van was broken into and tools taken as well on the same night around 2:30a. We must be vigilante over the next week with all the cars that will be parked outside overnight on the street due to paving. Keep an eye out folks and report any suspicious activity.

Anyone catch anything on surveillance cameras? I'm sure this is the same group hitting the area.

This group went through the whole development, including Fandor.

It seems like they're really targeting pickup trucks for the tools inside.

Without accusing any group in particular, I've been told by many folks (including police & fire) that this type of crime is common in new developments and commonly done by the trade/construction workers. They are in the neighborhood regularly working and they know who's home and who works and when. They also have regular access to homes to do fixes/repairs so they are very aware of the contents of homes. I really think Country Wide and Aspen Ridge should really be doing more to assist with security. So help us if we find out its a builder-employed trade worker - they are going to be held liable.

From what I've been told, you're right in that some of the break ins have been builders workers. That's a small percentage though, dingoduck.

These guys are not employed by the builders, I know that much so far.

Joe is right...these trades people are not direct employees of the builder so you'll be hard pressed to lay any legal blame.

Perhaps not, but home owners don't directly employ them either. We employ CW, and CW employs the trades and trade companies employ their crews. CW should make it part of their responsibility to employ reputable trade companies & workers.

I think it's wrong for CW to simply pass the buck and say they have no community responsibility here. Sure you're right about legal liability, but how about doing the right thing for your customers who are spending BIG BUCKS on your product...

Until there's proof of anything the point is mute. I'm not trying to pin blame on anyone, but I think we need to come together as a community (homeowners and builders) to help protect our neighborhood and well being.

I agree, Dingoduck. I've told everyone from AR that I only recognize AR, when someone comes here sent by you, he's from your company, no passing the buck.

They all represent their respective builders, both for the good and the bad.
