They are all made by the same company and are pretty much the same except for the battery backed up 3/4hp.

Don't forget to support your local economy.

Hi Greg,
I bought the Craftsman 3/4 hp at Sears.ca when it went on sale for 274.58 (tax incl).

Was wondering if it's going to be too strong for our single garage door (the door will be insulated- I believe injected foam or something like that). Thanks!

Very good advice Greg. Sometimes people forget that we are in the mess we are in today because we tend to buy TOO much outside our own manufactured products.

As long as the force is set properly, it should be just fine.

That model has an automatic force adjustment on it.. Just let it run its routine and it should be sensitive enough.

which garage door opener do you recommend for a double garage?
Garage opener + instalation -> What is a reasonable price? I got as qoute $400 but I do not know the type of garage opener yet. Thanks...

the best price i've seen on liftmaster 3/4hp belt drive models was $395 installed when i was buying two. that was when the dollar was at par. ended up getting the battery backup versions for $425 each. i liked those over the home depot models because they came with a one-piece rail, rather than bolt-together.
