Default Advice needed for sink & rangehood installation

We got a tilt out try under the sink but now when we see it we are confused as to how we are going to get a deeper undermount sink installed once we get the granite

there is this 5-6" deep wood strip attached just beneath the tilt out tray that goes all the way under the sink so there is no way we can install a deeper U/M sink without having to cut this piece of wood strip. Can we risk doing this(cutting and reinstalling the wood pc) ourselves or mention this at our post pdi scheduled for friday and see if they can get it done for us or not?
Any help and comments would be appreciated.

TIA

You can probably notch it out, but the builder wouldn't be under any obligation to do it for you since you are doing your own sink upgrade.
Doesn't hurt to ask though!

Lightbulb

Since your getting granite, can't you just move the placement of the sink up higher

Maybe you will have to widen your cabinet and countertop and have it jut out a bit like this.

Question Chimney range hood installation

We have to install our chimney range hood but want to know how easy/difficult it is to remove it and re install once we do the backsplash after we get granite?

If its not that difficult then we would go this route otherwise will have to do the backsplash on the stove wall before putting up the chimney hood.

Any opinions???

Thanks
