Default Mattamy - Summerbrook Corner Q.

Does anyone know a Summerbrooke Corner, Elevation C, in Kanata that can confirm if there are vaulted ceilings in the Master Bedroom and in the Hallway on the second floor?

We had our framewalk this week and there are no vaulted ceilings which according to plans there are. We were told upon signing that we had them and now we're getting two different answers if the elevation has them or not.

I am hoping to try and find someone with the same Elevation who can give me a firm yes or no.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

My mom moved into her Summerbrook just over a year ago and had the same problem. I will confirm what elevation she had. She is missing the vault in her bedroom and the dinning room.

Now that you mention it, I don't even remember noticing if we had it in the dinning room!! I need to take a peek this weekend.

Thank you for looking into it. Much appreciated.

I am sure it is only part of Elevation A.

Nope, I have seen an elevation C before. You will get a little attic there and there will be a door in your bedroom to go there.

Thanks for the info Mudz.
Venus, let me know what you find when you go out to visit this weekend as hearing about the lack of vaulted ceilings in the master bedroom and hallway was disappointing but losing that feature in the dining room would really upset me. Having a vaulted ceiling in the dining room is part of the reason we didn't go for the 9ft ceilings in the rest of the main level (for us it didn't seem necessary to spent the money for the sake of just the great room & the kitchen).

I am sure you are not missing out on anything. 8 ft ceiling is good enough. Unless your family members are like 7 and a half ft tall or you are planning on putting huge chandeliers or ceiling fans.

According to the catalogue:
"These floor plans and room dimensions apply to elevation "A" of this model type"

So, I dug up our agreement of purchase and sale and here's what I found out about our house:
According to our agreement, in elevation "C", the dining room ceiling is not vaulted, it is a "10'6" raised ceiling"

No information is given about the 2nd level.

I just drove around to double check. Both Elevations B and C dont have vaulted ceiling anywhere. Elevation B have a terrace upstairs.

Thanks Mudz. I appreciate you checking. There isn't any vaulted ceiling in the dinning room, just the 10 foot ceiling.
It's disappointing. I distinctly recall asking them if we had vaulted ceilings in elevation C and was told yes.
The one nice thing that I didn't know elevation C had was a small window bench/seat, in the dinning room which is nice. I'll definitely have a seat cushion tailored for it.
