Default Smoke detector

Hi:

Does anybody know if builder has to provide smoke detector or other safety features or atleast provide options to install later. Not sure if Ontario Building Code has a mandatory regulation for that.

Will appreciate your feedback.

Thanks

There must be a smoke detector on each floor in all new houses. They will all be wired together, so that if one goes off, they all go off.

There must be a smoke detector on each floor in all non-new houses.

This has been a law for just over a year now.

This should all be detailed in your purchase agreement on the feature sheet.
