Exclamation minimum distance between Gas Range and Microwave hoodfan

Hi,
I just moved into my new house and got gas range + over the range microwave hoodfan installed.

Somehow It looks like the microwave was very close to the range so I gave my kitchen guys a call.
According to the Kitchen company there should be 30 inches between countertop and cabinet under which microwave is to be installed.

Kitchen company is right and thats the difference that I have but the microwave still looks very close to range.
Microwave is fixed properly and there is nothing I can do to change anything.

Any Suggestions?

Can someone please tell me what should be the minimum distance between gas range and microwave hood fan.

Pretty sure code is 18", not 30".

18 or 19 is the code for distance between counter top and bottom of microwave.

30 is the code for distance between countertop and bottom of cabinet where microwave is to be placed.

Issue is that there is 30 inches distance between cabinet and counter.
but when I put in the microwave, the distance is only 15 inches.

It sounds like the builder built for a "standard" OTR microwave and maybe you bought one that is higher than what the builder thought. Did the builder not ask you which OTR microwave you were going to install? There isn't much you can do now except exchange the microwave for a smaller one or change the cabinet for a smaller one. 15" is too close - especially for a gas range.

Actually, it looks like most OTR microwaves are 15-17" high so 30" to the botom of the cabinet is too close.

I am wondering does the gas stove and Microwave hoodfan work well together? As far as I know, gas stove need a REAL hoodfan (at least 300 cfm).

Many OTR microwaves have 300cfm fans.

Our installer said he has to install to the specs of the range and the hood (license requirement and liability issue), so we should always consult the "site prep" sections of the installation manuals before we buy any range or hood.
