Default New Funeral Home in Barrhaven

Hello All,

Started a new thread...please pass this info along to anyone who lives remotely near Stranderd and Longfields...WALMART.

Apparently McGarry Family Chapels Inc and Northern Management is wanting to build a funeral parlour on McGarry Terrace which is located on the south side of Standherd Drive. East of the Walmart and west of Longfields Drive. There is a residential house to the south and a seniors' residence to the east.

DETAILS OF REQUESTED ZONING BY-LAW ADMENDMENT PROPOSAL:
The application was made to rezone the site to permit a mix of commercial uses including a funeral parlour. The site was subdivided by plan of subdivision and a road was created on the west side with access to Strandherd Dr.
The site is currently zoned Fg-Future Growth Zone...

Anyways, the file number: D02-02-07-0068...if you wish to follow up with this.

If you have any comments / complaints please feel free to contact Steve Belan at (613) 580-2424 Ext 27591 or email steve.belan@ottawa.ca

Or if you have any questions....Paul is organizing to stop this from happening...his number is (613) 601-7285.

WE ALSO ENCOURAGE TO CONTACT THE COUNCILLORS:

Steve Deroches: 580-2751 or email steve.desroches@ottawa.ca
Jan Harder: 580-2473 or email jan.harder@ottawa.ca

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PASS THIS ON!!!!

I'd gladly swap the carp dump for the biggest funeral home there is and a cemetary. Both of these are quiet, don't smell and are well maintained!

Yea - I'm not really seeing the problem with the funeral home either - unless it's behind my house

Same, no biggie. The plot of land is between wal-mart and the old folks home that my grandma is in... its not within 100 feet of a residential plot.
