Default Questions for current Mattamy home owners

Hi Mattamy home owners, I need your help!

1) I have heard that its definately worth it to upgrade the underpad, but the carpet is not essential to upgrade.

2) How much is it to install the "Man Door" (Door from house to garage)

3) How much bigger are the basement windows if you upgrade the size, how much does it cost.

4) What are the essential Architectual upgrades to purchase, about how much should you spend on Architectual upgrades?

5) Has anyone purchased the Central Air through an outside vendor (sears, etc...) I bought the green wood and heard it would be about 1500.00 through sears

Looking forward to meeting and speaking to all of you.

The pricing below relates to Fletchers Brampton, but should be very close for your model:
1) Well worth upgrading the underpad, but don't bother with the carpet. Underpad makes a huge difference.

2) The door from house to garage is $1250

3) The upgraded basement windows are 24"x30" and cost $ 428 for 2 (in my model). The number of upgradeable windows may vary from model to model.

4) I spent $25K on Architectual upgrades? The "essentials" will vary person to person as some are personal choices, my major ones were:
- 9 Foot ceilings $6K
- Door to garage $1250
- Fireplace (Hearth and View) $3250
- Oak Mantle $2150
- Oak Stairs $2600
- Upgrade soaker tub to whirlpool $1545
- Super Shower/Frameless Glass Shower $2900
- Shut offs at sinks ** A must if you want to replace anything (otherwise it's difficult but not impossible as you have to shutoff entire house

5) No central air yet - but in the market. Pricing varies $2k-2500

Default Is it worth it

Is it worth it to upgrade the floorboard on the first floor to 3/4" plywood or the electric panel from 110amp to 200amp?

Default Upgrades

Hey,

Were are going with the hardwood but were told that upgrading the plywood not necessary nor really worth the price, however definately upgrade the electrical...when you start adding computers and all the technology it does become a drain. We have a friend who recently finished renovations and it was the one thing he advised us would be really useful.

As for upgrades, the kitchen, bathroom and definately hardwood! Big for resale and for your own enjoyment!
We upgrade the kitchen to the Executive, best bang for the buck, main floor all hardwood, upstairs the underpad and carpeting, and the electrical to 200 amp.

Hope that helps

Yes the Executive is the second upgrade, I believe the Sous is the first.
