Why do they do that? I got my invite to Mattamy U the day before as well. It's nearly impossible to find child care on a weeknight with one day's notice.

I'm guessing so a lot of "angry" people don't show up. Less notice = less people IMO.

Meeting went well. There's a lot of misinformed and uneducated home buyers in our neighborhood. It was probably a very good idea to have this meeting to help educate them.

For those who couldn't make it, long story short:
-Mattamy was found independent of the controversial Carp River study
-The provincial govt has said they will process Mattamy's engineering plans once they receive them from the city
-Mattamy is confident in their new "tentative" closing dates that they are having a grand re-opening of phase 5 this weekend. Home prices will go up.
-Mattamy is now offering a $5000 credit on closing for all those who stay on board. Those who have already re-signed will also receive this credit.

Pretty good guess I'd say.

I wonder if step 3 or 4 (depending if they have any other brilliant ideas to get people to sign first) will be a 5000.00 offer to re sign?

I think we can all agree that Mattamy doesn't want an abundance of claims going through Tarion so in order to avoid that they may just offer up the 5K maximum that people would get from Tarion on their own. That way there would be no record of the delays.

Just a thought. Those who hold out may get a nice surprise if you can refrain from bowing to their threats.
Just remember that you are signing up for another potential 120 day delay should they not be able to meet those "tentative" closing dates. I have a feeling that Mattamy isn't being the nice guys here. They aren't offering you 5K for everything you've gone through so far. They're most likely buying(literally) themselves more delay time just in case. There are no guarantees no matter what they tell you.
