Does anyone know what the current status of Mattamy Fairwind Phase 5 in Kanata?

The sales guy won't give me any details, and just said that there would be letter sent out next week. When I get it, I will try to put it here as soon as I could.

I was so shocked when he told me the news, even though without any details. Anyway, the sale in Phase 5 is hold. Now we can't do or say nothing but wait for their letter.

<sigh> And I was just getting my hopes up earlier today when I say a new Taggart "base" being setup north of Hazeldean near the south-east corner of Phase 5... There were 2 bulldozers, 2 of the excavation dump trucks, an excavator crane, a mobile office and a new gate... My wife said that it might have been for one of the planned Hazeldean commercial developments getting started, but I was hoping.......

We will have to wait and see what the letter says. Having just bought a month ago, I would seriously doubt that we will see any "walk away" options any time soon.

OMG!!!! I know many want to walk away and never look back but we invested so much time that we'll be pissed if this is true. We looked at so many other builders and the prices have gone up so much since we bought in March '08. I don't know what to think of this....

That might be for the hazeldean road widening which is about to get started. They should soon be creating a temporary bridge over the carp river a little to the north of hazeldean and relocating utilities.

Yeah, that would make sense... Lots of construction markings on the pavement of Hazeldean too.

I went to the Kanata sale center this afternoon. It looks like that all the phase 5 houses are sold as all the lots are occupied by small houses. So I asked the guy there about it. He told me that, though there are still some lots available, now they are all on hold for phase 5. I'm confused! I spoke to the city on Friday and they said that Phase 5A was still on track. Phase 5B still had some work to do on it. They were still working towards getting the roads in before the new year and there was still some back and forth with the poole creek area but the city rep said they had made some real progress in the last little bit. Did the sales guy say all of Phase 5 or was he referring to the B area only?

Forgive the ignorance, but what is 5A and 5B??

I don't know where the exact boundaries lie but 5A was the original Phase 5 development sold. I believe 5B was opened up for sale this year and encompasses some houses on Brigatine (after the curve) and the houses on Khamsin Street and everything east of it.
